A regular weekly yoga class is great but there are times when it is really beneficial to spend more time on a practice. In the monthly focus for my regular classes I put in extra exercises or modifications to help with certain postures or body areas but there is not enough time to go into it in depth or without interrupting the flow of the practice too much. In a workshop we have that time to break postures down, work on specific body areas or on a completely different aspect or type of practice. As an SYT some of my workshops are aimed at helping students and teachers alike.
In addition to workshops I also offer an extended class once every month or so called ‘The Yoga Breakfast’. This is a longer class than usual where we follow an Asthanga Primary Series practice, sometimes the full series and other times a shortened sequence with a focus and a few variations. This is followed by a sit down breakfast of homemade muesli and bakes, fruit, yoghurt, teas and coffee. We usually start at 9.30am and finish around 12. It’s a lovely social event and very popular, check out the next dates on the Latest News Page.
‘I love the Yoga breakfasts, it is a great start to Saturday mornings. An uplifting yoga class followed by fabulously healthy home made breakfast. All In a very comfortable and friendly environment.’ Allison
I have also run workshops with other teachers/health professional and invite guest teachers up to share their knowledge and practices with you.

Retreats are such a great way to get some time to yourself and to focus on your practice for a few days. In my experience as well as feeling totally relaxed at the end of the week or weekend students really notice a difference in their practice after the concentration in yoga and it often spurs them on to make time for it on a more regular basis when they return home.
I have held retreats in Spain and the UK, this year we will again be returning to the magical island of Lindisfarne for another 3 night retreat. On a retreat there is a variety of yoga such as a chill out session, ashtanga primary series, workshops, yoga nidra and meditation. In addition for many of the retreats we have the lovely Mandy Whelan of Mind & Body joining us and she offers a variety of treatments that you can book in.
We try to choose venues where we can have exclusive use of the facilities and tailor the yoga and meals to suit the group. Our group size is usually around 12 students so that Louise and I can make you all feel welcome and the food is home prepared vegetarian and vegan meals with lovely cakes and treats too.
‘The weekend retreats to Lindisfarne are the highlight of the year. You can indulge yourself with a weekend of yoga in beautiful surroundings, relax with friends and eat delicious homemade food cooked by Liz. A special experience indeed.’ Kim
